NaNoWriMo Day 19
Week 15: Song
Writer's workshop
HW NaNoWriMo 63% 6,300 - 12,667 words.
We started our day by walking inside the classroom and Ms. Nakada greeting us with a smile as always. I went to my seat and pulled out my things. While I was showing George my word count on my NaNoWriMo I looked up slightly just to see that Stuart apparently had been fighting with the air for a while. George said he was fighting his demons which was wonderful. Then, Asal and Aidan walked up to the front of the class to read their blog. At the end, they said that they had chosen Kate, so I went up with her to help her. When we got there, I set my stuff on the table and wrote what the song was in my notebook. It was "The End Of The World as We Know It" by R.E.M. When I finished doing that, I asked Ms. Nakada if she could put the blog on my computer so I could start writing something. Nothing was really happening at that moment other than Ms. Nakada asking something to someone in the back that I couldn't quite hear.
---
I was busy writing my novel when Valentina handed me the Chromebook. I closed mine and made a remark on her word count being 6767. Then, Ms. Nakada instructed us to start writing in our English notebook. I asked Ms. Nakada for an old friends' scissors back, and she said that a parent can get them back. I thought that the name "Ezra Scissor hands" was a clever nickname she made. She started telling us about R.E.M. (rapid eye movement), and how when you're in the R.E.M. state of sleep, its supposed to be the best sleep you'll get in a while.. The question, quote, and song are all about endings. This is referring to how our NaNo WriMo is starting to come to an end.
When we were talking about the song of the week, Ms. Nakada asked us what it was about. It was about the guys singing the song not thinking that the end of the world is that big of a deal. Ms. Nakada then started talking about how for some people it already was being the end of the world, the example she gave us was Sodapop from The Outsiders, she asked us what was happening with him but no one could really answer. So she read that part of the book, and explained what was happening there. We wrote our notes and Ms. Nakada gave us a 5 minute writing session.
Ms. Nakada said that we have five minutes for writer's workshop, and whoever gets 200 words in, they get a piece of candy. Then, we all packed up and left for lunch.

NaNoWriMo: Day 18
Week 15: Question
Writer's Workshop
[HW] NaNoWriMo 60%
6,000 - 12,000 words!
We started class off by walking into the room with Ms. Nakada greeting us like always. When we got inside we sat in our seats, and Zack immediately started accusing me of cheating in happy ball. After Zack finished talking, Ms. Nakada asked Bennett what parent he preferred to be contacted about his novel, and he said his dad. The class was quiet, for the most part, and Ms. Nakada asked more people which parent she should call. Ms. Nakada checked everyone's word count and added it to the chart.
Ms. Nakada explained that the other class was doing the twenty-day plan. Then, there was some distractions in the right side of the class. We started writing in our notes. Our question this week was "When has an end been a kind of beginning?" We discussed The Long Way Down as a potential answer to the question. Another potential answer was the death of a character or person.
Stuart mentioned Squid Games when we talked about death and someone mentioned horror movies. We talked about how change is also an end of something and the beginning of another, and Ms. Nakada used graduation as an example. after we finished talking about beginning and ending we started our 10 minute writer's Workshop. Stuart spoiled the ending to his book, which was the main character dying by getting impaled by a spike, but Asal cut him off before he could spoil anything else. Johnny was looking up pictures of people in South Park and talking about someone eating something big. Joseph was drawing instead of writing and didn't even have his computer out and neither did Solomon. Ms. Nakada asked Solomon which parent she should call and he said Seth and then talked back. Zack walked back into the class after being gone for a while and Zack played dumb about where he had been.
that's all for our blog! we choose KATE!!

Week 15 Grammar, Quote
Writers Workshop
HW : NaNoWriMo 56% 5667-11,000 words!
First, I came into class, sat down in my seat, and began to write the agenda down in binder reminder. Afterwards, Alexander started to read his blog and once he was done he chose me. I started to pack my things to go up to the front. Asal then asked if I needed help and I said yes so I wouldn't be alone.
The class then began to read the pep talk by Neil Gaiman. When Ms. Nakada finished reading her part it was silent for a few seconds. After we finished we started to do our NaNoWriMo for ten minutes. The class was very quite during the ten minutes. Then, we started our notes. The Grammar of this week was " The Hero's Journey." Ms. Nakada started to play a video. While the video started playing I saw Johnny staring at me in a creepy way. We started to write a clock in our English notebooks and wrote down what happened at each time. Someone asked a question, so Ms. Nakada explained it to us. Shortly after, the explanation we wrote down this week's quote. The quote was by Adam Silvera, and after we were done writing about what the author meant, everyone began to work on their novels. That's it Byee.

Then, Ms. Nakada updated our progress and then she reviewed the notes before the quiz. Then, we did the quiz and continued to novel. Then, the bell rang, and we walked out.

Writers workshop
HW: Nanowrimo 50% by Saturday (5000-10,000)
We started off the day by watching the take a minute video. George said he picked me but either he didn't say it at all or he didn't say it loud enough, because if he did people would be laughing or saying my name. Then, I chose Briella to help me with the blog. We had ten minutes to write our novels. After, Ms Nakada checked how much we have written for our novels. We started to listen to "Livin' On a Prayer" by Bon Jovi. While we were doing so Lena said she wanted to be a CEO and Solomon laughed at her and told her that he would never work for her. Then, we were talking about the pep talk. Once we were finished, Ms. Nakada said we could work on our novels. Solomon got kicked out, to no ones surprise. Everybody was really quiet, and actually doing work. I think it is only because Ms. Nakada scared them by saying she would call their parents if they were not at 15% yet. Ms. Nakada checked our percentages again, and told us to pack up. After that, the bell rang.

Week 13 Quiz
Week 14 Grammar Quote
Everyone walked into class just to see that our old seats were moved which bummed some of us out. Bennett showed me the inside of his water flask which had Guava Monster in it and it was very red.
Zoe and Katerina read their blog and kept bringing up Demetrius Demarcus Deshawn the III Junior, which was weird. Then Ms. Nakada asked us who hadn't done the blog yet. Kaiden and I raised our hands, and Zoe chose me, which was not cool. I chose Kaiden to come up with me because he hadn't done the blog too.
We did the NaNo WriMo & I was stuck exactly on 1700 words and I had no clue what to write. We switched to our English notebooks and learned about Incorporating Research & things that you could research. Ms. Nakada started to ask us what an allusion & referenced to the Outsiders which had the "Stay gold" poem.
Then Ms. Nakada called out Zachary for not paying attention. Zach had a bad excuse and Ms. Nakada didn't fall for it. Then she called out Salami for not having allusions in his novel. Then we did the Quote which was about needing a plan and not having enough time.
We wrote about a quote by Leonard Bernstein which meant that the less time we had , the more urgent we would do our things. Ms. Nakada started referencing the quote to sprouts and how limited the time was which made it go faster paced. Zachurry started flexing his words on another guy who I didn't really get to see and Ms. Nakada got very irritated at his flex.
Then Ms. Nakada started talking about deadline and how to make yourself work faster and get things done better. Then Mark tried to go to the The bathroom for the 67th time and Ms. Nakada said no. Then we did a word war, where we get have to write 200 word in 6 minutes.
And then the bell rang and we all left, I got 296 words done in the word war.

Week 13: Quiz
Hw: NaNo WriMo 30% by Monday! 3000-6667 words!
We started off class by sitting down and took a minute. A lot of people were not here yesterday because we had a field trip, so Ms. Nakada told us the Agenda for yesterday so we can have all the points for our binder reminder check. Jason and Johnny read their blog and it was ok. They then picked Zoe to write the next blog. Which she then picked me to do it with her.
Zack and Demetrious Demarcus the third were talking to each other while everyone else was writing their Novels.
Both Zack and Demetrious kept interrupting me and Katrina writing the blog. So, we both agreed it deserves a spot in the blog.
Anyways, we took 10 minutes to write our novels. Ms. Nakada then started to call out names to ask what percentage everyone is at for our novels. Ms. Nakada also went over the rubric for our essays which were due Friday.
Demetrius had none of his essay done and most people were about to finish since it was due today. Ms. Nakada later read us her essay that was about if Pony boy would stay gold or not. She than gave us time to work on our essays.
We got about five minutes to do our final edits of our essays and then turn them in.
We then took the quiz, and when we were done we had more time to work on our novels or essays.
Ms. Nakada then got mad at Demetrious because he was looking at Zack's screen, probably cheating.
And that's it for today! We choose Aiden L.

But aside from that we started to work on our novels and while we were working Jackson was saying stupid stuff. While they were all typing about their novels, I turned around and Demetrius Demarcus the third said something to me in Chinese. After the timer went off, Ms. Nakada asked us if our percentages on our essays and Demetrius demarcus the third said he only had 86 words which Ms. Nakada asked him about his plan. Ms. Nakada showed us our novels and told us about how she can see when we worked on our novels. As Ms Nakada was talking, DARIOOOO walked in the room asking for pencils. Ms. Nakada gave us time to work on our essays after our week 13 notes. Zack kept making weird noises while Ms. Nakada was explaining our essays.
