Once we got in class, Ms. Nakada gave us letters on where to sit. Once we sat down, we got our binder reminders and wrote down the agenda for today. While we were writing down the agenda, Ms. Nakada played a video. While we were watching the video, I kept on hearing people call out Rachel's name during the video. After Demetrius read his blog, we corrected his blog from all of the mistakes he had made. After correcting Demetrius's blog, we moved on to our note books and opened to the table of context and wrote down our week 6 Grammar, quote, question, song, and line. Rachel kept talk about some guy named Cristo Hernandez and kept asking Ms. Nakada if he was tall or not. We watched a video showing us who Cristo Hernandez was, and Ms. Nakada asked if anyone knew him. Rachel said he was from Sesame Street and someone had said he was from Elmo Street. We started talking about how the supreme court ruled about how I.C.E. can racially profile anyone who speaks Spanish or anyone who speaks another language. After that, Ms. Nakada wrote down the quote for today which is, "Orgulloso means proud in Spanish. I am orgulloso being Latino, orgulloso being from Mexican, and orgulloso being me." - Cristo Hernandez.
After we finished with the grammar and quote, Ms. Nakada told us to turn to the next page to talk about our book projects. She gave us papers to glue in our notebooks. She told us we had to read about 1 million words by the end of the school year. Ms. Nakada explained to us about the project and told us we have to be at 500,000 words by the end of winter break. Ms. Nakada chose a bunch of people to read each bullet point of the paper. Ms. Nakada had asked Solomon what was happening because he was laughing. After we talked about the book project, we all packed up, and that is what we did today.
