Blog corrections
Week 4: Song
Literature circles
Homework; Read 100 pages of your literature circles books.
When I walked into class, I thought the same routine would happen. I walk in, sit down, write the agenda, draw, write in my notebook, draw, and then literature circles. But, when Valentina nudged my leg, I had a feeling I would get called out. Ms. Nakada wanted me to do the blog, and Val already knew I'd choose her as a partner.
After we got chosen for the blog, I stood up, and dragged Kate with me. I asked her which one of our computers we would use for the blog and she already had her own out so we used that one. Ms. Nakada started playing the song of the week which I thought was actually a really good song. I wrote it down in my notebook as Ms. Nakada put the blog on Kate's computer and she started to write.
When the song ended, I started writing. I looked over to the side to see Kate drawing something. Then I looked back at the computer. We talked about water references in the song, about how it related to police brutality, and the lack of freedom that we have to keep fighting for.
Once everyone was finished finding the hidden meanings and the tone of the song, we were instructed to go work in our literature circles. The class got started on the third day, and worked in their groups from 12:20-12:45. Val wouldn't stop bothering me while Stuart pulled up a chair for our literature circle.
That's a lie, I'm the nicest person in our literature circle.
