Week 4: Quote / Question
Literature Circles
HW: Read 100 pages of your literature circle books.
My fourth period students walked into class and got settled. There were quite a few people absent, but once students wrote down the agenda, we watched the short take a minute video.
I went to the 6-7 Matcha Labubu 41 Blog, and I realized I'd forgotten to write it. Yesterday, Evan had read his blog and chose me. Sadly, I forgot to do it, so I'm doing it now today.
Yesterday, we'd gone over the grammar (its, the possessive v. it's the contraction / your the possessive v. you're the contraction).
We also went over the quote by Anna Julia Cooper, an advocate for Black women's education. Her quote was about the cause of freedom for all.
The question of the week was: "How can we celebrate this 100th year of Black History Month?" We discusses many different ways of celebrating like watching movies, documentaries, and supporting Black-owned businesses.
We then moved into our literature circle groups and read for 20 minutes. Students then discussed their books, and I gathered pages read. That was it for the day!
