As we came into class me and Nylah were talking about what we saw on the board, when we heard that the next person that was called will be the final blogger and Nylah and i had asked Demetruis if he did the blog and he said "No i picked Kaiden and then i asked Demetruis if he could ask Kaiden if me and Nylah could do the last blog and Kaiden said yes as a nice person. Me and Nylah walked to the front of the class to do the last blog  and Ms. Nakada had to talk to Zack because  he somehow always has something to say even when Ms. Nakada is done talking to him but she deals with it. Then Ms. Nakada read her heart warming letter to us but she had to talk to Demetrius about talking while she was talking, as she was done we started writing our letters. I had writers block for a quick minute so I asked Spirit to write in the blog for a little minute .Then I I started writing my letters to my favorite 7th graders but I only wrote two because I can't seem to remember who the others are but clearly they are not THAT important, But I didn't know what to say to them or what's something they would want to know. Anyways then Ms. Nakada told us what to do with our letters when we were done but not everyone was listening.

Then it was the last four minutes of our last full week on our last regular Tuesday of school as 8th graders so we packed up for the last time of one of the regular days of this week.

Anywho  bye guys happy last blog day hope you enjoyed your Last normal Tuesday.

H.S Plans

HW: Think about your life in ten years.

The day started off with us walking into the classroom and settling in, writing down the agenda in our binder reminder and listening to this week's "Take a Minute." Demetrius and Stuart went up to the front of the class to read their blog and the two chose me. I asked George if he could help me with the blog, and he agreed. We started doing the ten-year plan paper, and it was calm. I think that today is Lucas's birthday, so happy birthday.

Also Zack was a bit hungry, so Ms. Nakada called him out, but he got one last bite in. πŸ˜‹

I worked on some of the ten-year planning paper, and George handed the computer to me. The class got a little loud so Ms. Nakada asked us if we were all done. Joseph wasn't in the classroom which confused Ms. Nakada but then we found out that Joseph got injured.

Ms. Nakada then got really mad and was going to call security on Zack because he wouldn't leave the class. Zack kept talking and Ms. Nakada got even more mad.

(Zack in the future, he's gonna be an inventor.) Then Demetrius fell in the middle of class.

I asked George a few questions about the ten-year planning and he helped me with a few things I was confused about.  As nothing interesting happened, I moved on to my ten-year planning to finish English off.

The class started as normal as we did our take a minute and Alex, and Jason doing their WONDERFUL blog, as they picked Demetrius, and he let me help him. Stuart had passed me the Chromebook and he started to make these like hideous faces which messed me up a lot of times. Then, I looked over to a very educated man with glasses named Demetrius who was doing his work and seeing what jobs would be good. We put in many jobs. I wanted to be an actor, and they make not even enough... like bro......

We started the day by coming into the classroom and sitting down in our regular seats. Ms. Nakada put on the Take a Minute as we wrote the agenda in our binder reminders, she announced that she would be checking them today. Kate and Valentina read their blog and picked Asal, and I went up with her. After that, Ms. Nakada told us to get out our notebooks to write a quote we used in our oratories as our lines. While Aidan was writing in the blog I took time to write the two A.C.E quick writes she had given us. They were about what we learned as a reader and writer. Then, we took out our computers to take the quiz. I was on the last question when someone pointed out a mistake, and we all had to re-take the quiz. After I finished my quiz I started writing the blog, while Aidan was editing his oratory before his audition.  Aidan grabbed his oratory. Then, he read it to me.

There are two minutes left, so we'll end the blog here.

 We choose Bennett.

HW: Original Oratories due 5/21

We started off class by taking out our binder reminders and writing down our agendas. After that, Jackson and Zack read their blog and picked me when they were done. I stood up and asked Kate to come up with me. I waited for Ms. Nakada to log in to the blog as we discussed the song of the week which was "Forever Young" by Alphaville. It was about cherishing youth because it's fleeting. Then, I went ahead and volunteered for the Poetry SLAM team and to recite my Oratory in the culmination ceremony.

Valentina and I recited our original oratories to make sure that they sounded good. We decided that we were gonna audition for the Culmination speech. She handed me the computer, and I started typing anything to fill my space for the blog. Ms. Nakada printed out my Original Oratory, and I stapled it to my original Oratory Guidelines. Valentina complained that her throat was sore, and I asked if it was because of the fire smoke, but she said that it was because she was sick. She said that she would cough on me, and I said that she already did worse. (she sneezed on me. she also just hit my back.) Ms. Nakada told her to pick up the markers that fell, and she picked up the book underneath it. It was called The Magnificent Markers: How to Test Friendship. She leaned in, looked at me, and kept asking if I wanted to read it. I already said yes, Valentina.

We packed up and then went to lunch.

We then start doing our lines and we read the poem "Learning to Love America" by Shirley Geok-Lin Lim. Which was about how it's hard to love a country. After taking a minute, Lena read her blog and picked me because someone told her to. Once I walked up, Ms. Nakada told us the question, and we wrote down our personal answers before discussing. We started talking about our answers, and Ms. Nakada made a comparison between Her and Mr. Hastings, and how their moral compasses are different. After we Discussed, we started our NaPoWriMo submissions, and people started working. I finished my Poetry Collection last week, so I'm just doing my broadside now, and my poetry performance I guess. Ms. Nakada began class with a take a minute, and then we skipped Blog reading and wrote in our note books. We wrote down two grammar words. The words were "poetry", and "revisions".

After that, Ms. Nakada gave us the quote of the week. This quote was written by Fred Korematsu. She told us about how Fred got arrested, and more of his story. She explained how he wrote this poem about his life story. She states that he is a Japanese American activist. This quote means that you should stand up for what you know is right, even if others don't believe the same thing.

Ms. Nakada showed us how to do our Broadside poem. Then, she gave us quiet time for us to work on the project. I finished the project, and I think I did pretty well. After we did that, she told us to begin packing up and cleaning up. That was the end of class today.

Then, someone asked about cortisol and, we learned it was related to stress levels.  Zach asked if he had Low Coritsol. Just after that, we got an assignment.

Ms. Nakada did corrections to their blog. While Ms. Nakada was doing that, I got my stuff and came up to write the blog. I kinda like doing them, as I got into the blog we went right into listening to the song "Purple Rain" by Prince, after we listened to the song we transitioning into our lines our lines was  a poem  called "I'm Going Back to Minnesota where sadness makes sense" by Danez Smith. We started to write our poems, as Ms. Nakada started to check how many poems read and how many were written. We started to write our poems, so we could catch up on the days we probably forgot to write. When the timer went off, Lucas wanted to share his poem about one of our classmates. I also wanted to share one of my poems, but I got to scared thinking my poem would make my classmates think and also Ms. Nakada because my poem are kinda scary and questionable. After Lucas read his poem, Ms. Nakada started to talk to us about our NaPoWriMo submissions. We watched a  bit of a Get Lit poetry video and people started to get packed up and that was it for the day byeeeeee🩷
